Tightly Bound

by Andrew Sweet
Denver, Colorado

Andrew Sweet's sculpture is a steel construction for the February 2007 showing at Denver's Walker Fine Art Gallery titled Identity.  It is constructed of steel parts, springs and found objects and is meant to invoke the concept of how we tightly, and with tension, construct our reality and the identities for our lives. The circles pouring out at the top of the work symbolize the inability to ‘totally’ control this process, despite our best efforts.

Andy Sweet is a Denver-based sculptor whose studio is with the Ironton Gallery and Studios in the RiNO Art District, north of downtown Denver. He is represented locally by Walker Fine Art Gallery in the Golden Triangle Art District.
