by Jane A. Rankin “Most of us have either taken part or watched kids in a sack race. The three kids captured in this piece are from the ‘50’s. Their photo was included in a photographer’s retrospective in my Oklahoma hometown newspaper. They were my brother’s classmates. He sent me the newspaper clipping and had written on it, ‘I think this would make a very cool sculpture.’ On this rare occasion I followed his advice. The clothing may have changed a bit since then, but the excitement remains the same.” |
