Spirit of the Land by Madeline Wiener at the Evergreen Lakehouse The organization's first project was a large, original piece of stone sculpture outside the Evergreen Lake House by Denver sculptor Madeline Wiener, "Spirit of the Land", selected from submissions by 41 applicants and carried out in cooperation with he Evergreen Park and Recreation District. It was installed in the summer of 1996. Two matching limestone benches, with a bronze plaque acknowledging major donors, were installed in the summer of 1997.
